 This page is dedicated to a new sub-project of the Apertus project - The Wireless Follow Focus system.

As of yet, we do not have any other name for it, but from here out in the document it shall be refered to as the AWFF (Apertus Wireless Follow Focus).

= What is it? =

The AWFF is an open hardware and open sourced Wireless follow focus system. It allows you to wirelessly operate the focus ring of a lens. *UNDER CONSTRUCTION*

My name is Micheal Green and I am a student film maker. While I have many ideas for apertus, my main goal is to improve the cameras ability to be used on a larger scale such as documentaries, music videos, and even feature lenght or short films. Apertus requires external devices such as a laptop or a netbook. To me this is a limiting feature for a film maker on a tight time schedule. Wasted time can be wasted money. If there was a different, wireless, way to connect to the camera, time could be saved and allow for much more complex shoots.

*Port elphel vision to android
*software customizations for android

== Research Projects ==
There are several research and educational projects that use Elphel cameras. Some are already active, others just starting or only in planning stage. We believe that scientific research is the application area where the open nature of our products is the most beneficial. The shortage of the powerful and at the same time open and flexible hardware was that "itch" that led me to start Elphel.
