You will probably need to deactivate "ipsetd". http://wiki.elphel.com/index.php?title=Network_configuration#ipsetd

This way of setting the IP was useful, but appear to not work with modern manageable switches.

And I agree that DHCP - ZeroConf - Fixed IP  - mDNS would be much nicer.
