Examples of picture take with various lens type

This section compare various lenses used with Elphel 333 Camera and 3MPix sensor.

- computar Lens

- Fujinon Lens ref DF6HA-1B 1:1 2/6mm (spec)

Picture : view of Strasbourg - France [1]
take with follow settings : /admin-bin/ccam.cgi?opt=\*cvhxy\&sens=4\&e=10000\&iq=100

- EOS Canon adapter with professional lens 17-40 UMS (photo)

Picture : view of Strasbourg France [2]
Picture : second view (minimum aperture) [3]
Picture : near object and maximum zoom. There is 3 pictures, each with focus on different object
   - picture focus on paper [4]
   - picture focus on water [5]
   - picture focus on USBKey [6]
focus seting is very sensitive. distance between lens and objects 1 meter.

How to build a Canon EOS Lens adatator for Elphel 333

- Canon EOS Lens with adaptator [8] [9]

A heasy way to build a C adaptator for Canon EOS Lens [10].

Take a protection of lens, make a central holl and fixe two C/CS adaptators [11] to avec a good focal distance.

We have tested various Canon Lens that professional reporter lend me. [12]

- Canon Lens mounted on 333 : [13] [14]

Pictures result of various lens :

The main of this test is to try to use Canon EOS lens, more reference and less expensive of C Lens. The second gool is to be able to use hight definition of CMOS sensor without optical resolution of C-Lens. canon Eos UMS PRO 17-40 : mount of 333 Elphel [15]

-- view of Strasbourg House (France) [16]

-- second view with another set of Canon Lens (minimum apperture) [17]

-- view of cat and barbie dole [18]

In fact : a canon large vision become a Power Zoom this CMOS size difference. 35mm to 1/2" [19]

Conclusion : image quality is better than C-lens (varifocal computar our fixe-focal Fujinon) but Canon lens become a super Zoom Lens and we not certify thermal stability of adjustment action (focus)

It will be fine to test a fishEyes for Canon.

Expensive projet of Adaptator to use EOS Lens can be find on net [20] or [21]

Examples of Electronic Rolling Shutter Distortion

A picture what was made from Elphel's Motor Office moving at approximately 40 mph. [22]

As in 5MPix resolution we have 1/15 second delay from the top to the bottom of the image everything is distorted. Everything but our reflection :)

One more example of distortion inducted by ERS: [23]

Some info on what is ERS and what we intend to do to compensate this artifact.

Gated Intensified

This picture was made by Elphel 303 camera model. This camera is no more produced but we plan to do another Gated intensified camera based on Elphel 353. More info on Linux devices.
