Because this wiki is relatively new compared to Elphel Inc. company lifetime not every past developed camera has the proper wiki coverage.

This list should cover the most important facts about the previous camera models.


Elphel 333

This model was released in 2004 and marked the beginning of the cinema camera development.

Specifications:

  • 3.2Mpix (2048x1536) 10-bit CMOS image sensors
  • 12 fps at 2048x1536 resolution
  • MJPEG and Ogg Theora unicast/multicast streaming
  • Auto-Exposure and White Balance
  • 100MHz 32-bit Axis ETRAX100LX CPU
  • 64 MB SDRAM (32MB system +32MB Video)
  • 16 MB flash memory
  • Xilinx Spartan®3 1000K gate reconfigurable FPGA (8-10 billions of arithmetic operations per second)
  • dimensions: 1.75"x1.75"x4.75" weighs 210 grams or 7.4 oz (without the lens)


Elphel 323

This camera is actually not a discontinued model. It was initially released in summer 2003 as high speed / high resolution document scanning camera.

  • 11 Mpix resoluion (4008x2672)
  • max. 2 fps
  • Weight: 1.04 kg (w/o lens)
  • Dimensions 102mm x 114mm x 117mm (w/o lens)

Elphel 313

The second elphel camera released with inital 1.3 MPix CMOS in fall 2002.

Specifications:

  • 1280x1024, 1600x1200 and 2048x1536 10-bit 1/2" or 2/3" CMOS image sensors
  • 15 fps at 1280x1024 resolution
  • 300K gates FPGA
  • 32 MB SDRAM
  • 8 MB Flash Memory
  • optional gated image intensifier
  • baseprice was 700$ plus 240$ for the different sensor front ends (special fiberoptic taper front ends were also avaiable for around 500-1500$)


Elphel 303

This was the first ever open source camera, that newly formed Elphel Inc. released in summer 2001.

It already featured the ETRAX 100LX CPU which is still in use - though with more hardware resources - in recent products and a Quicklogic anti-fuse (single time programmable) FPGA.
