When companies rely on free and open source software (FOSS) solutions — it simplifies building transparent and fair business relations too. Elphel Inc. take this one step further — we extend the free licenses to the hardware we develop.
All our products come with the complete source files — not only for the applications and drivers, but with reconfigurable image processors and converters as well. That sort of code (what they call IP — “intellectual property”) is mostly heavily protected by many of the conventional hardware vendors.
